Technopanic is a group exhibition that brings together artistic practices that explore the unstable relationship between technology, society, and human perception. Works selected focus on the moment of uncertainty, when society first encounters a new medium and struggles to understand what it is and what it may turn us into.

Rather than asking whether new technologies are good or bad, this exhibition examines how each new medium generates both promise and fear. Works included in the exhibition show a range of approaches to technology, from critically, humorously, or nostalgically to experimentally. They question technological progress, embrace it, misuse it, imitate it, or reveal the absurdity of our attempts to control it.

Among the works in this exhibition are AI Made Me Do It by Elizabeth Thallauer, Dream Tunnel by Svetla Popova, Scam by Marc Prospiech and The Echo of Simulated Touch by Magdalena Gabryś. These works are the results of the Hands-on AR for Artists workshop led by Albena Baeva in September 2026.

The Hands-on AR for Artists workshop introduced participating artists to working with augmented reality.\ Participants left the workshop with a workflow to create and present their own web-based AR applications.

Hands-on AR for artists is part of the long term collaboration between Projektraum Galerie M and Gallery Gallery.

The Technopanic exhibition, curated by the Projektraum Galerie M team, can be viewed from 27 September to 7 November 2026 at Marzahner Promenade 46, Berlin.
